Balance, Symmetry, and Asymmetry
Balance: These photos I often found myself confused with symmetry. For these, I tried to find a middle line of sceneries or an object, and from that, I would make sure each side had equal; weight but not exactly the same. A lot of these pictures can seem symmetrical at first glance but once you look deeper into the picture it reveals its self to me not symmetrical.
Symmetry: For these, I had a very similar technique to balance. I would find a centerline, or center object and look at both sides, except these had to be a mirror image of each other. This was easy in the sense that there are a lot of symmetrical things, but a lot of them were not very pretty, so this became hard. I also focused more on the symmetry of the foreground, not so much the background.

Asymmetry: This was the easiest for me, I just would use camera angles, and un-even sceneries and objects to create a not symmetrical picture. I also looked for a centerline tho, but this center line would result in there being more weight on one side then the other. Meaning that there was more happening on one side versus the other. Sometimes there would be more of something, sometimes there would just be a physically bigger object.
Hi Jack, you did a great job with all your photos this week! The way you used natural lines in the asymmetry photos worked really well. Great job!
ReplyDeleteHey Jack, Nice photos . Your camera angles worked great like in the asymmetrical photos. Awesome photos!
ReplyDeleteSup brother. I think you executed the main idea very well in all of these photos. I especially liked your symmetry and balance photos. Your descriptions also let me understand your thought process and plan. Good job! Whee!
ReplyDeleteJack, you did an amazing job this week in regards to manipulating the objects into working in your favor. There isn't a need for improvement for your blog post. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHey girl,
ReplyDeleteYour photos are v good and I loved your symmetrical photos. I thought that they were simple and elegant and your use of color in your photos was great as well.
Great photos cuz. I they are out of this world. I really like your leading lines they are really strong. Good descriptions and use of language. Keep up the arduous labour to produce these works of art!
